<p>Gordon Fee war ein Sohn von Donald Fee, einem Pastor der <a href="Assemblies_of_God" title="Assemblies of God">Assemblies of God</a>, der im Staat <a href="Washington_(Bundesstaat)" title="Washington (Bundesstaat)">Washington</a> tätig war. Er studierte an der <i>Seattle Pacific University</i>, wo er einen Bachelor und Master erhielt.<sup id="cite_ref-pentecostalgold.com_2-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-pentecostalgold.com-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Er machte seinen Doktor an der <a href="University_of_Southern_California" title="University of Southern California">University of Southern California</a> (USC), und er wurde zu einem Fachmann für Textkritik des Neuen Testaments und in der <a href="Pneumatologie" title="Pneumatologie">Pneumatologie</a>.

</p><p>Fee lehrte zuerst fünf Jahre am <a href="Wheaton_College_(Illinois)" title="Wheaton College (Illinois)">Wheaton College</a>, das im Westen von <a href="Chicago" title="Chicago">Chicago</a> liegt.<sup id="cite_ref-regent-college.edu_1-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-regent-college.edu-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> und dann einige Jahre an der <i>Vanguard University of Southern California</i>. Von 1974 bis 1986 lehrte er Neues Testament am <i>Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary</i> in <a href="Hamilton_(Massachusetts)" title="Hamilton (Massachusetts)">Hamilton</a>, <a href="Massachusetts" title="Massachusetts">Massachusetts</a>. Danach lehrte er am <i>Regent College</i> in <a href="Vancouver" title="Vancouver">Vancouver</a>. Oft reiste er nach Afrika und Europa, wo er Missionsstationen und Kirchgemeinden besuchte und vielerorts lehrte und predigte. Am 21. April 2010 wurde ihm ein Ehrendoktortitel von der <i>Northwest University</i> in <a href="Kirkland_(Washington)" title="Kirkland (Washington)">Kirkland</a>, in Washington, verliehen.

</p><p>Fee schrieb etliche Bibelkommentare zu verschiedenen Büchern des Neuen Testament, und um 1990 folgte er <a href="F._F._Bruce" class="mw-redirect" title="F. F. Bruce">F. F. Bruce</a> als Herausgeber des <i>New International Commentary on the New Testament</i>. Er steuerte die Kommentare des <a href="1._Korintherbrief" class="mw-redirect" title="1. Korintherbrief">1. Korintherbriefs</a> und des <a href="Philipperbrief" class="mw-redirect" title="Philipperbrief">Philipperbriefs</a> bei. Er war auch Mitglied im Komitee der Bibelübersetzung (englisch: <i>Committee on Bible Translation</i>, CBT), welches die die englische Übersetzungen der <i><a href="New_International_Version" title="New International Version">New International Version</a></i> (NIV) und ihre Revision, der <i>Today's New International Version</i> (TNIV), verantwortete. Ebenso gehörte er dem Führungsgremium des <i>International Institute for Christian Studies</i>.<sup id="cite_ref-pentecostalgold.com_2-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-pentecostalgold.com-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>

</p><p>2012 wurde bei ihm die <a href="Alzheimer-Krankheit" title="Alzheimer-Krankheit">Alzheimer-Krankheit</a> diagnostiziert, was ihn zunehmend bei seinen Predigtdiensten und Führungsaufgaben einschränkte, so dass er von diesen Aufgaben zurücktrat und nur noch etwas schreiben konnte. Mit seiner Frau zog er nach <a href="New_York_City" title="New York City">New York City</a> um, wo ein Sohn von ihnen wohnte. Am 25. Oktober 2022 starb er.<sup id="cite_ref-3" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-3"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>3<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
